About

Born in the Netherlands in 1968, Simos was attracted to music at an early age.
He studied under direction of Dimitri Zafeireli in Athens, Greece, and soon moved to Scotland where he joined his first professional band by age 18. Passionate for more, he relocated to Florida and attended Broward Community College for two years, where he specialized in classical studies while working as a sound engineer and session performer in local bands.

Thirsty for more, Simos went on to Boston to attend the Berklee School of Music (graduate 1995). He funded his education as a session musician in the thriving Blues-Rock scene (Live-Blues-Guitar-vox) and played in Power Trio bands.

Post-Graduation, Simos returned to Athens, Greece, where he earned 1st prize in the “Fender Guitar Competition” (1997).

Simos released his first album “Wild World” in 2011 and recently his second one, entitled “Breakthrough” (2018).

Based in Athens since 1995, Simos is a prominent figure of the local Blues Rock scene with his band Simos & Co. & regularly collaborates with Lucas Sideras (drummer of internationally acclaimed “Aphrodites Child”, Nikos Giannatos (Pyx Lax), Giannis Drolapas (Vavoura Band, Mousikes Taxiarhies), Stelios Vamvakaris (Rembetika), Marina Skiadaresi (Folk Vocalist), & others – while during the summer he is performing nightly gigs in Sweden & Norway.
